The Crazy Sisters....Change/Clean A Bedroom.

At one time...this was Jordan's room...I loved the curtains...well...I loved it all...But...she didn't. SO- being a good mom (or a stupid one) I let her choose her own style....paint....yea...
This is what we ended up with. I had to do some fancy Tootsie-ing to get it just right...it took forever...and that paint was a stretch for me to say the least....
Bright enough for us???? like the flip flop garden plaques?
Well....Over time...(about a year)...this nice bright room...became a nightmare space...and it was time to take back the decorating, cleaning and do some changes. I didn't want to paint this time, so I decorated around the grape green (top color) and lime (bottom). Have I mentioned that I do not like the wall colors so much? lol
I will spare us the "list" as it pretty much included scrubbing every surface, and 5 -yes 5 garbage bags....(no more letting them take care of their own rooms....that only lasted a couple months...lol)
So...I got started...and for less than $100 I managed to pick up what I thought I would need...

This is the culprit that single handed-ly made her mom (me) mad enough to shake upon the opening of the closets....Say hi to Jordan...she is 8...and will be very lucky if she is still living here when she is 9 if she doesn't SMARTEN UP! lol

Drum roll Please.......After a lot of hard work, scrubbing and a huge amount of goofing around and giggling...(making up blog posts in our heads)....she finished the curtains, I finished the rest...and VOILA!

I didn't do anything but scrub these walls....the color sure looks different without the loud fabrics doesn't it? (Jordan was recently diagnosed with ADD-ODD, and a calmer room might be a very good thing for us...) Pretty sure I need to re-paint. Not loving this any more than I did before...maybe even less...lol
It looks way better in person! Can't say the photos do it justice.

These are the curtains. Made from $8 wal mart bed sheets.
They are super cute...the tassels...from the dollar store $1 each for the big ones!

This room took several hours longer than I thought it would...or should have....and Jordan BEST be keeping it CLEAN-or I will move her to the garage!

Oh we all evolve in our styles dont we? I must say how wonderful it must be to have such love and care within the family to help CREATE your new space...I liked the wildness...LOL, but have to admit that over time...it may OD me...LOL...but color is a beautiful thing...ah ...moderation...perhaps the new word of the day for that young cutie! :)

I will visit the other gals, thank you for the links!

You are a Rock Star, girl! You deserve a medal for all you've done lately.

Seriously, can I have some of that energy???

I love the brights colors, but also loved how you muted them. I think you're right, the calmer colors may be more restful for her!

Love to see all your decorating skills. The inside of your home is as beautiful as the outside!!!

Your children are growing like weeds! I just can't believe how big they're getting to be!
I do believe you may have a future little decorator on your hands!

Oh, my knockout roses have two new blooms! Woo Hooness! Maybe the tomato fertilizer did the trick!
Thank you again, Dear One!

I really need to redo the rooms in this house. I love the way it turned out. A calmer room should help, bold colors and patterns like stripes are a no no. You and your sister crack me up~~

It's funny. I loved the color of the room the way it was accessorized before, but now it looks really LOUD for some reason. Maybe because you accessorized with softer colors?

Well, get out the paint rollers girl!

Okay, so my Buttercup would want the bold room...seriously. I like both of your "afters" (bold and calm), but I agree that the paint is going to have to change...it is a little to bold now for the style and feel of the room. I'm just astounded at how beautifully you managed both transitions. They're truly lovely rooms and you inspire me!

I think the curtains turned out great. I can't sew to save myself but I have a sister who can sew but unfortunately she lives in NC. I am always thinking of things and wishing she was near....hmmm do you suppose that had any part in her decision to move so far away!

I can't believe you and your sister got that much work done with those five 'angelic' little people around. The room looks great! Sally

Why are you so mean to me??? :0) Poor me...HELP! I'm still in here...Let me out!...someone!...anyone!...I,m still in the room...my fingers are calloused...and bleeding ....and I,m afraid if I get blood on her next project, well...who knows what she'll do!...(she is pretty handy with the dirt if you know what I mean!) Ha!!! Hey! The room looks great on line. You should just blow up a big poster of it clean to put on her door and then keep it shut so you have the illusion that it,s always clean....
Until next time... Bye!
