Expect the Unexpected!

Hey all!! Happy 2nd Time Around Tuesday! A big thanks to Diane at a Picture is worth a 1,000 Words for hosting this fun party!
Today I am sharing some of the great finds I made while in another city in our beautiful province of Alberta. I was doing some junkin...and came across this tea set!
Yep...it came with the tray for $5.00!
It is black pearl ceramic...the only piece missing was the creamer...but who needs it right??? lol
tiny little cups with saucers!
Not even a stain! very pristine!
Where on earth will a girl put such a pretty set you ask? You will never guess...Well in the sunroom/office of course! This is where I got started...I used some old tea pots that I had trifted and found in the past...I just love the curves of a tea pot..or cup...especially the antique silver ones...I rarely remove the tarnish...I like them a little darker.
I put them in this plate stand...plant holder thingy...bet you weren't expecting that!!!
I like it!-for today anyways...lol
The dresser under them is a garage sale find...it is old and heavy...had a bad smell at first...and almost ended up being planted in the garden room...but I fixed it. I still need to replace the knobs..

And that is where the tea set is...it is pretty, a little whimsical in there...and safe from a very bad kitten that lives here!
I had to do some re-arranging to do this project...I think I like it. The desk in the middle is going to go elsewhere soon...just not yet. I need to decide where to put it. But for now...this is where I sit to blog to you all!
I am saving the other half of the room...for another post..it is getting a little fall dressing at the moment to compliment this side of the room...The cabinet with the doors...well I made that myself..from bits and pieces out of an old house that was being ripped down for an office building to go into...it was so much fun to go help!
This is my favorite room of the house. I primp and change it constantly...do you have a favorite? Did you notice the crowns??? there are two in this photo.
Head over to Diane's to check out the other bloggers participating in this party!

Looks like a nice quite place to retreat from the world. And the tea set--what a great find at such a wonderful price and very unique display idea.
Just visited the making of the garden room, wow, that's a lot of bags of cement. Glad you got the mixer, what a helping hand. Lovely finish.
I also enjoy wondering through your gardens of fabulous flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my lunch box post.
See ya next time ;-)

That chest is to die for. By the way I really like the desk in the middle of the room like this. Can't wait to see the rest of the room in the fall decor. Have a great day girlfriend.

You got a nice deal on that tea set..wish I had time off to go thriftying...I'm a little jealous! Your 'blogging' spot is darling...looks so cozy!...I will never,never..show a picture of mine...its digusting!...Have a great week...(thinking of doing a post for outdoor Wednesday..)...its about time!
So cozy and organized! I am..well..ok it's cozy but I would not call it organized! :)
That is a sweet set and would look wonderful just about anywhere.
I must be the only one left that polishes her silver. My daughters don't...as a matter of fact I just bought a new bottle of polish yesterday. It's a habit I guess and I like the look of it. My daughter likes it darker like you do. Either way it's pretty.

Now we can picture where you are when we read your posts! :)

ooh girl, I just LoVE the feel of this room. So warm and cozy! And can I tell you, I really like the desk where it is!!!!

I cannot believe what you did with that tea set (which I actually think may be a coffee set). I would never, not in a million years think to do something like that. Brilliant!

Tootsie, you are creative and fun. I love the tea set and the price. A great buy. Your desk in the room where you blog is homey and sweet. I just use a lap top and sit in my recliner to blog. I have never used a desk top computer. My dh copies things for me. I can hardly control a mouse. LOL. I need to practice that's all.

Hugs...Jeanne
