Happy Friday Bloggers!/ Gardeners!/ Friends!!!! It’s Friday again already and that means it’s time to flaunt our flowers, gardens and all things green!
Now if you are not familiar with the rules of this little party…here they are;
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!
So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!
For me this week has been a total waste of garden time. It has been raining and wet and COLD here. Today it only got to a high of 5 above freezing all day long.
I miss the sun shining, and the warmth of the sun feels like a distant memory for us here in Alberta. That being said, I think it is only fair to warn you that I am grasping at the proverbial straw trying to find something – anything to show you today. Frost has taken a bit of a toll on my gardens already…and last I looked, we were under the very real threat of possible snow showers this weekend!!! (ya…I know…someone needs to have a little ‘chat’ with good old mother nature) Here’s what I dare to share this week:
My Nicotana…seems to have taken a turn for the tallest!!! It is about 4 feet tall…and I am pleasantly surprised by it. I think it’s funny how some of them are only 12 inches and others are enormous!
My Ivy plants are turning that pretty shade of red that they have in the fall. I love the color…but it still makes me feel a little nostalgic for the hot warm summer.
This is a closer look…they have just started to turn…they will end up a deep shade of red by the time they are finished for the season. I just hope we get to see the deep red tones this year. Last year it snowed before they had a chance to turn, and they all just went limp and hung all over the vines looking ugly all winter. ICK
Delphinium blooming . Very pretty…and Very WHITE…considering it was supposed to be an electric BLUE!!!!
Geraniums…this is such a pretty one…
This one just POPS in the evening light…
This one looks like it is dusted with flour…
This is so pink it glows…
And they all live right here…where they used to be soooo pretty and lush. It is still pretty, just not as full of blooms as it once was.
My header bed is still overflowing…but mostly with blooms that need to be deadheaded….I am waiting on a warmer day…seed harvest is going to happen as soon as possible…so we can get loads of seeds!!!
I am frozen solid…so I am on my way inside the house…one last shot of the flowers from the top of the stairs…Oh how I wish for a longer summer season!!!
Okay…now that I have complained and groaned in your face about fall…and cold wet weather…show me what you have!!! I want to see your warm climates…all glowing with blooms and sunshine!!! PLEASE???? It’s been a while since I’ve seen the sun!!! haha-no seriously…it has!
I look forward to popping in on many of you this week…and I have some great posts just waiting for me to finish up…projects…jobs…and adventures with the kids!!! (yes-we went junkin-and it wasn’t at Grampies!)
Until next week- hugs and smiles….wishes for a safe and happy weekend to you all. OOPS! I almost forgot to say a big hello to those three special winks who just adore even the thought of me! You know who you are!

Doesn't it seem like we were just chomping at the bit to get things going? And now everything is dying off!
It's warm here and as glad as I am that the terrible heat is gone..I am not looking forward to the cold all that much.
You must feed those plants pure milk and honey. I need to feed mine and I keep putting it off. It's time again.
I will try and get my plants in presentable condition so I can join in very soon!
Hugs,
Mona

p.s. This is my first year with you - how long do you do Fertilizer Friday and when do you start again in the spring?
Tootsie, your weather stinks. That's what I luv about Mississippi.
I've run around here in a tank top in December before.
try to stay warm, have a great weekend.
Your garden looks amazing. You sure do make the most of the short summer you have. Your header bed is so full and colorful still, I'm jealous!
The garden seems to be smiling and happy during the day and shivering and drippy in the morning.
BUT we are no where as cold as you. Keep warm my friend!!

Miss you dear Greenhouse sista - we need to talk soon about the adventure!

Sorry to hear you're getting such cold weather. Isn't it early even for Alberta?
Well, I know it isn't as lush as it was but your gardens still look great to me. I could be so lucky to have beautiful shows like yours.
