Welcome!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!
Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted
I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
Well…we had snow…and we had a little cool weather…and now…it’s been raining here for the last 3 days! There is nothing but ice all over the place. The snow is still hanging in there…and I must admit if I had to choose between the freezing rain and a little snow shoveling, I would absolutely choose snow.
I don’t have anything good to share from the outside today, so I am going to share some of my newest additions to my ever growing plant collection today!
Not so long ago, I was walking through the grocery store and to my absolute delight I happened upon a display of succulents!
In and amongst the many varieties there were for sale, was one that I have been looking to add to my plant hoard for years!
YAY! I finally got myself a string of beads plant! It isn’t the biggest…or even the bushiest…but it is one that I have wanted for a long long time! I hope I can get it to grow and thrive for me!
Next up… is a group of plants I didn’t even know I wanted until I found them!
They are called Tillandsia cyanea. They are a species of flowering air plant in the bromeliad family, native to the rainforests of Ecuador. At first when I saw them in the store, I thought they were fake! They do not feel like any other live plant I have ever ever had before!
They are a very neat little addition to my collection and I am hoping that I don’t kill them, or that my cats don’t snack on them! I am going to try to figure out a way that I can have them in the bathroom…as they don’t really like to be watered, but misted. I was thinking that the steam from the shower should be plenty of moisture for them and they would add a little life to the bathroom! (hey…a plant lover NEEDS plants in EVERY room…even the washroom!)
I love the bloom on them…they are super neat!
I am excited to have a couple of unusual and new plants to play with!
That concludes my flaunt for this week…I can’t wait to find some time to sneak around and see what all of you have to share!
SO?
What are you waiting for???
GO!!!
Get your flaunt on!!!
You can link as many posts as you like…I don’t mind seeing lots!!!
