Where Have I Been?

This post is about my greenhouse. It is the greenhouse that has been held in high esteem and cherished by me since the first nail went into creating it. To me it represented all that was right in the world. It was my safe place, my sanctuary and when I was in it, I was special and felt loved. You see...it was a gift to me by someone I thought would never hurt me in ANY way. Well...as we all know...I thought wrong...and I thought I would never be able to go back into this place.

Those that read my recent post declaring that I was reclaiming my life and myself...know that I vowed to go ahead and use the talent that God gave me....No one else gave me the gift of growing...I was born with that. The greenhouse is a tool...and object...and it is MINE ....MINE to use to express my gift. And I decided that this past weekend I was going to suck it up... and make my first move.

I got my act together....headed for the door...I had a bit of a rude awakening when I opened the door...What was I stupid? Was there a vandal in there? Nope...not unless you can call Tootsie a vandal...(but I'm sure you would never do that!)
Good Gravy! What a horrible mess!
I cleaned a little bit of it...got my heating situation under control...and decided to go make some supper. ............
Supper ended...Kids tucked into bed...I decide to head back to my work.
This time I took a camera with me. Lets go....

The lady next door calls it the mother ship when I have the lights on at night...You can hear her yelling "the mother ship has landed!!!" (she even says that when she is sober! )

I had already cleared us a path, and removed much of the plants that had frozen to death the other night when the heat failed and it was -43C overnight here...
here are some of the spoils of that night....
I would have taken you all along for the duration....but as you can see...my desk seems to be missing!
I suppose you could have sat on the wicker love seat I fixed up last summer...
Or on the hose hanger.....
What on earth is in that bag? How long has it been since I was in there?
That bag is huge...it is an oilfield trash bag....it is large enough to hold a grown person's body....(focus Toots....focus) and look how full it already is! There is only leaves in there! I did lose a lot of plants that night....grrr
Take a good look at the "wall"...that is my shelving for the entire building! Stop laughing Tamara...I can only dream of having your establishment!
and look at this! what a mess...it looks like a dirty flea market shelf!....I just stuffed it all in...yep!...you see that other set that I was supposedly making a birdbath out of!....(tea pot and cups)I am soooo busted! that is wood I bought to do a project...and never took it to the garage...shoved it in here ....hey...I had no plans of growing anything again!.... OOPS! you couldn't even sit here if you wanted to! there are two angels and some junk on there!
Wait!....is that my desk???? Oh My...what do we see here? How shameful.......
Oh my! Tootsie! That's a fake Plant! LOLOL!!!!
Yes it is! lol.....a fake plant sitting in a tea cup on the desk in a greenhouse? lol....now that is almost as sad as the neglect inflicted on this place!
Soooo....now you know where I have been....where I will be...and where I should never have left!
See you when I finish up some of this ....and I will provide you with some shots of the finished job!
Forgive my absence. Life here lately does not seem to be leaving me much time to blog or read or comment..I have been to a few...but...you know how that goes....Stay tuned for my clean house!

I love your greenhouse. I wish I had one myself. I have to bring all my plants in during the winter....and that is a pain. Yours looks lovely, a wonderful place to hang out.

Hi Tootsie
Sometimes it just takes time to get through things and get your head cleared before you can get on with what you want to do and what else around you you need to clear up. I knew you would never leave your flowers and plants and all the love for that. You just needed time. I’m glad you’ve found it. That will keep you out of trouble..*s*… and into something you love.
It looks wayyyyyyyyy tooooooo brrrrrrrrrr out there though I don’t think I could join you today…
Have a lovely day and take care of you and your feelings and your family..*Hugs*
Enjoy this holiday season

Tootsie! I am so---o proud of you! You can work miracles when you put your mind to it and not let life get in the way! I see a miracle growing here! You have touched my life in a way you could never understand! You make me smile! I worked traveling with an aviation company for five years until, We finally had to leave on absence, me and my hubby, because of my illness. We are home two and half years and miss our job and the money a lot! But You Can Do Anything! Just make it Happen! I love your green house, working with plants is so relaxing! I had a small one years ago, and wish I would not let hubby tear it down. I now want another small one! I am rooting plants on my enclosed porch. Just keep that crown on! My Queen! I will be looking for new articles on your nursery and growing tips! I included tips!lol While working I use to talk, on the phone to a lot of men in aviation software business, in Canada, daily! They usually fly here every Januray, for the Aviation convention. We still go, its held at the Siver Star Casino, on the Chotaw Indian Resversation. Keep up you head! For if not the crown will fall off! Wish I could come help you with your clean up! Have a Merry Christmas! I shall be thinking of you, in your greenhouse working away on those tea cups I love!

So glad to see you back in your Magic Place! If God made anyone to be inside a greenhouse it was YOU! I can't wait to see what you do with the place and the amazing stuff that comes out in the spring. LONG LIVE THE MOTHER SHIP!!!
Look who has their light on!!! That's my girl. I am so proud of you!!! I can't wait to see your special place all fixed up again. Girl, I wish I could be there to help you. We would have a blast!!
Take your time and don't worry about us. We'll still be here when you return. I think I'm going to take a short break myself. Larry will be around home more for the next few days.
Merry Christmas!!
Terrie
We all need a sanctuary, and your greenhouse is one. I hope you have a great holiday, Tootsie!

OK, this would so be what my greenhouse would look like if I didn't have employees who clean up after me! Seriously, they complain every time I "design" something because I just leave all my stuff laying around in my haste to get photos of my latest idea to send off to the buyer.

Thank goodness for organized employees :) Hope you get one of those some day......but then again, maybe not. They have their own personal problems you gotta deal with. Better to be your only employee!
