You'd Never Know if I Didn't Tell You...Right?

Hey Justine! I am showing you a view from the front of my house today!!!! You said you'd never seen it...so here we go!

If you were walking past here.....you'd more than likely never suspect that a deranged plant fanatic lives inside this house...I do get some compliments on the grass...but that's about it.

When I started in this yard the only beds that were here were the two in the front of the yard...and they were filled with rocks....just like the ones next door. They were awful red and grey and white mixed together.....ICK! So..I removed them and got busy. Really Busy! Did I mention I was 6 months pregnant when I started this?

This is the view from the sidewalk just before you enter the back yard.

This is the front bed....LOADED with weeds... as for that huge truck....it used to be here...but was in a big crunch...and is not a truck anymore!

This is under the bedroom windows in the front of the house...not much to see last year..
A view of the front doorway with the Engleman's Ivy growing like weeds!

Yup....that's mostly weeds! chick weed from the neighbors garden got in and I gave up! It could have been beautiful if not for those weeds!

A view of the side of the house....see the window?

Lets get a little closer....MORE WEEDS!!! shame on me!

The same long huge bed...it is hard to photograph this bed....the next door neighbor's house is too close for a good shot!

The corner....my goodness...things weren't that big when these were taken

As we walk away from that corner...

These are all photos from this year past and the one before. I have had so many people ask if I have loads of comments from those in the area....nope! No one even suspects that I am here....and if they do...they don't say too much! (maybe they are afraid of the crazy plant lady! lol)

Well, I think they are the crazy ones for not asking or saying anything. Your yard is amazing. I'd be at your door begging for help if I lived close by.
I'm in awe of your abilities to work wonders with flowers.
Had to let my silly puppy out, now it's back to bed...lot of work to do tomorrow.

Maybe they are just jealous. If i was walking past your house I would go directly up to the door and ring the door bell and tell you how beautiful the front yard is and what a joy it is to see it. I have been known to do that a couple of times. lol. Maybe i would even bring you a special Crown for your yard. "THE QUEEN OF the Garden lives here".. mishelle

so, I just caught up with your blog. Interesting stuff as usual. Love the purchases you made, and the cracks on the angels bums are funny! I have read the moss recipe before but have never actually tried it. The photos of your yard are very nice. Do you plant your geraniums in full sun or part shade?

Toots~

Your home is gorgeous and full of charm. I love the windows and how it's slightly open in the first picture. Then the moldings ( or ladder ) looking stuff ( I don't know what it's called...lol. ) Your gardens are beautiful. I too am battling weeds~ my back flower bed is giving me nightmares right now. The front is fine though~ isn't that weird?

Have a beautiful day!

I am learning a whole different vocabulary from you; what is chick weeds? How many plants do you put in? The front yard in the center island I really like that. How many plants are in there. I just need to ship you here with some plants and let you have had it. LOL

I could look at your flowers all day. Oh how I wish I were close enough to walk by on that sidewalk. I know I would stop and take it all in.

Thanks for the huge early morning laugh this morning from your comment on my blog!!! : - )

If I lived next door to you, all my rockers would be turned to admire your yard! It is so beautiful.
I think you neighbors are probably jealous!

They're jealous, that's why! You have an absolutely beautiful yard -and the flowers have such beauty, they trump the weeds anytime! I've learned so much from you, Tootsie. Wouldn't miss your blog for anything!! The neighbors may not talk but that's because they're drooling and they can't make their mouths work! PAM

I for one love the crazy plant lady and her yard! I've never seen your house from the front either that I remember. The amazing thing too is I didn't see any weeds, even when you were pointing them out!! LOL! Maybe I'm just used to weeds. Pretty soon we'll be out in the yard trying to salvage what may be left of it. I used to like yard work, now not so much. I'll have to send you photos later so you can inspire me with suggestions!! Tootsie, I am trying to catch up on your postings since I am new. I am just simply amazed at the flowers and the colors in your beds. So many annuals. Do you grow all your own annuals from seed? Your petunias and geraniums are gorgeous.Your hard work certainly pays off in such a beautiful yard. Also being plant crazy is the only way to go :)

Hi Tootsie...I never have seen the front of your beautiful home before either so I'm glad you posted it... all I can say is your neighbors must be blind, mute or more likely jealous... Just for fun I think you ought to paint up a sign & put it in your front yard that says, "YARD OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD"...LOL ;-) Bo

Your gardens are just fabulous. I can never pass a garden shop/nursery/grocery store without buying a plant. You have done such a terrific job-it looks like something out of a garden magazine.
