A thing or two...or seven. Complete with photos.

And You Thought You Knew ME!!! ha ha
Maureen over at The Green Suitcase and Deb over at Dragonfly Treasure have taken the time to read my blog, leave some very nice comments....AND they are so kind as to think of me to receive this award! Seriously, if you have not had the chance to click over and browse both of their blogs ...you really should!
Thanks girls...
Now...this blog award comes with a hitch or two. If I accept it I must share 7 little things about me that I have not told you before...and that you may not know by reading my blog.
I also have to pass the award along...and let the recipients know that I have given them this honor!
I don't think I have much to share...it took me forever to come up with what I did...I am pretty boring as people go...so I'm sure this is going to be a boring post...so I decided to jazz it up with some photos...
Lets get started.
1. I have lost a lot of weight this past year or so. I have not been dieting, but maybe switching to diet pop and a lot of stress has contributed. Or maybe still....I finally lost the last of the baby fat that I carried after having three kids. My entire appearance is different. I have photos to prove it!
This is me in May of 2008 when I first started sharing with you all in blogland:I was a size 13-14.
This is me about a month ago...and at that point I was a size 6-7. Today I am wearing a pair of size 3 pants comfortably. I sure have changed a lot! My hair hasn't been this long in almost 20 years-I think...It used to be about 3/4 inch and spiky messySee? here's proof! this was taken 7 years ago... (maybe I should join a transformation post! lol) okay...enough with this one...

2. When I finally had a yard of my own to garden in...I had NO gardening tools of any kind. All I started with was a kitchen spoon, a steak knife and a pair of scissors...oh and a lawnmower that really didn't work so great. The people in my neighborhood used to laugh at me crawling around on my hands and knees with my steak knife and spoon....cutting edges back and digging in the soil. The scissors? Well they were my edger...I did not have a weed wacker...and I refused to have long grass along the sidewalk...so I trimmed it with the scissors. I also have been known to prune a plant or two with scissors...but don't tell anyone okay?
(nope-no photo of that)

3. I am fascinated by the paranormal. My favorite t.v. shows about such things are Most Haunted, Paranormal State and Ghost Hunters. (nope- no photos of ghosts either)

4. I have ZERO interest in Politics. I understand why some are so passionate about this subject...but just cannot get interested in it. I also don't believe it should determine who you are friends with. (I don't think this one needs a photo-does it?)

5. I HATE WORD VERIFICATION ON THE COMMENT SECTION OF BLOGS! HATE THEM...hint hint....

6. I wear contact lenses. My eyes are two different strengths. One is VERY weak...(and I mean that like I see 6 inches in front of me clearly without glasses or anything.) One is about three times stronger...(I see about 1 1/2 feet clearly) I have the type of lenses that you wear a month at a time for 24 hours a day...then throw away...I love them...and to think of it...don't even know where my glasses are at this time! lol I have not worn my eyeglasses in public in 12 years...and before that...it wasn't by choice..lol (what- you didn't really think I would show you a photo with my glasses on did you????)

7. My eyes change colors. Some days they are bright blue...others more of a dark blue. Then...still others they are either all gray or have a touch of green to them. I don't know why.And that's 7 uninteresting things about me.

I bet you thought you were not going to get nominated....well...if you have not already done this...you are now officially in the hot seat! I nominate anyone who has not done this...and if you have...repost it!
Thanks again girls!

Let's see...your eyes are just gorgeous (Superman's eyes do those tricks, too...I'm so jealous!). What else...um, there might be more enjoyable ways to lose weight...I'm just saying. Oh, yeah: Politics...here below 49th parallel, politics is making me crazy...seriously...I'm so sick of hearing about it I could scream! P.S. I love your hair all different ways!

Thanks for the visit and sweet comments.

Hi Glenda...Wow, girl, you are looking great! I wish I could get inspired to lose a little...I think stress makes me eat more! Not good. It was fun learning more about you...your eyes are soooo pretty! Maybe your eyes seem to change according to the color shirt you are wearing...I know mine tend to do that. :-)
Hope you are staying warm up there. I know you miss your garden...but hopefully you are having fun in your green house.
Susan
Loved this one & you looked beautiful before & after!
I hate the verification thing too & got rid of it a long time ago.
Yep, I've been known to trim plants with scissors. It's that grab whatever is closest to me at the time thing. ☺

You HATE word verification????? Hint Hint????
Yea, me too. I've been thinking of getting rid of it. It's probably not really necessary.

I can't believe all the weight you lost-----but don't worry, cuz I FOUND IT!!!
:D

Wow...what a transformation! I am so jealous!!! LOLOL! Seriously...

I don't think I have the word verification thigy on my blog...let me go double check now...I can't stand that either!!!

Have a wonderful week!

Oh...BTW...I still trim plants with scissors at times!!! (I enjoy it, for some strange reason)!!! :)
What a great post and congrats on losing the weight! The reason I've added the verification to my blog is because I was receiving a lot of spam comments and this has prevented this. I too hate it but it keeps spam down. Hope you have a great week, Theresa

I love fun posts and girl...this was a super duper fun one! Loved reading all the secret info! Just for the record, I despise W.V. especially the new one. I gotta say, I got such a mental image of you crawling around in your yard. I bet your neighbors drug lawn chairs out to sit and watch that show!
Remind me to tell you sometime about my own ghost stories! I'm so with you on that one.
Whatever you did to drop that much weight...spill! You look fantastic!

Girl, you are so pretty! Great job on your weight loss. That's something to be very proud of. You'll live longer. :)

It's not uncommon for me to be out in the yard with my scissors too. Sometimes one little blade of grass can get to me! You've come an awful long way in the gardening category. Your yard is amazing.

Hi Tootsie! Honey, no matter what stage you're in - you're a beautiful woman. Oh, I'm ashamed - I'm craving candy and you're loosing weight.
Be a sweetie,

Congrats Tootsie! ~WOW! I can't believe you lost all that weight without dieting. That's amazing!
Now I can't even imaging you any tinier than the last photo. My goodness girl be careful. You look fabulous!

Your eyes are simply stunning!

I'm laughing at the thought of you crawling around outside with scissors. HeHe! :)

Awe, you are adorable. I love the blue eyes, I have blue eyes too.
You look absolute--------ly beautiful. I love the long hair on you. Depends on the sress will make me gain weight or lose weight.
So right now I need the stress that causes you to lose weight. It was scary over the week-end I thought for sure we had lost my father. He slumped over at the dinner table and my sister couldn't get him to breathe. He is ok. He has been forgetting his heart medicine and sodium pills.
All is well thank god; I could stay to lose him in the same year as mother.
Justine said…
No uninteresting at all! But why didn't you go out and buy some gardening tools? I mean come on, a steak knife? ROFL!

Your eyes are so damn pretty, no matter what color they decide they want to be.
Do NOT lose anymore weight. You looked good in 2008 already!

You are my Ghost Hunter sister. Are you going to watch Steve and Tango's Ghost Hunter Academy???

Justine :o )

I knew you'd been losing weight but my gosh Tootsie, if you turn sideways you'll disappear in that picture! A size 3? I don't think I was ever a size 3 but I have a daughter who's a size 1-2 so I can picture how thin you really are. You look gorgeous both before and after the weight loss! Too bad so much weight came off due to stress but woohoo for you on the part you worked to lose and tried to lose! (I hope that all came out as a compliment bz it was meant that way :))!

I smiled when I read about how your started gardening with the steak knife, spoon, and scissors bz when I started sewing I was sewing on my mom's umpteen-million-year-old machine and I wore some pretty horrible creations bz I'd paid too much for fabric not to wear what I'd made! There was so much I didn't know. I used to cut out patterns on my parents pool table! I'm surprised mom didn't say anything except "don't cut the fabric top!" We all have to start our hobbies somewhere.

I'm blind as a bat too without glasses. I had to give up contacts years ago. I can see outside great with contacts but inside it's all blurry if there are lights on so forget working on a computer (which I do all day) with them on. We have so much more in common than I thought! Have a great day today Tootsie!

P.S. We differ on the paranormal though. I'm a scared cat!

Very intriguing tidbits about you, Tootsie! I hate word v. as well. It's ridiculous.
Nice to learn more about you. You are beautiful, in both photos, by the way!
Thanks for sharing! I'm another paranormal junkie. I love all those same shows. Can't get enough of them. I like scary movies too. You look awesome! It's amazing what can happen when you stop dieting and just eat better. -Jackie

Hey Glenda! You look awesome. I guess I am going to have to send my chocolate stashes to you. I eat when I am stressed so that wouldn't work for me.
My sister has eyes like yours, what she wears effects how they look, some times blue, sometimes green.
My Mom always used a knife to weed with and her flower beds always looked great. Mine not so much so. You need to come to Michigan.

I enjoyed learning about you Tootsie! how interesting that you started gardening with a knife, scissors, etc. Your neighbors, who laughed at you, should come see your gardens today! You look so great! You have lost a lot of weight. laurie
Great post, Tootsie! And you look fabulous! I've always thought you were an attractive lady! And your eyes are beautiful! I think I found what you lost...that is what stress does for me! Just the opposite! LOL!

I agree with on the word verification! Detest that option! LOL! And don't tell anyone, but in a pinch, I still use scissors to trim plants! LOL!

Hope you are having a great week! ~hugs, Rhonda :)

Your eyes are beatiful... the kind that see deep into a person's soul... the kind that make you feel at home...lovely pools of blue or green... I envy your weight loss...some day...maybe soon. As for humble beginnings I painted with the wall paint and the front door paint and coffee... I know where you have been... I bet we both have the T shirt.
Gotta love you Tootsie
Congratulations, Lee

Holy crap! A size 3???!!!...I dont think I was ever a size 3..and I'm pretty sure I never will be! The scissors and spoon story is funny..that will probably be me next spring...(the landscaper keeps putting aside these little planting 'beds' for me to plant stuff in, I keep telling him "put a rock there!")...hope all is well, take care~Cindy

Wow, congratulations on your weight loss success. I am battling about 30 or 40 pounds as a result of a faulty thyroid....ugh. It just gets harder to lose it as I age...ahem...a little.
Thanks so much for your encouragement on my blog today....seems like we are thinking alike, huh? Challenges!
And those flowers on your header are fabulous!!! Great job!
