A Sad Goodbye

misc%20pics%202006%20008

It is with a broken heart that I write this post.  The tears won’t stop, and the memories are flooding in.

Today is a difficult day in my house.  Today we said goodbye to a member of our family.  Miss Poo turned 12 on the 23rd of August.  She was my oldest baby.  I have had her since she was just a few weeks old…been through thick, thin, good bad and lots of love with her.

She is a pure bred Sheba Inu.  She is loving and silly and gentle.  One of the brightest dogs I have ever seen, she could even spell the words ‘walk’ and ‘bath’.  She will be very sadly missed in our house forever, but fondly remembered always.

If you would please pray for my children to heal from this loss, it would be appreciated.

Lots of Love Miss Poo…we miss you already.

Tootsie, I know how you feel. I have had two dogs that we lost. We didn't think we could go through it again, but we now have our third westie. He is a joy, and I can't imagine coming home without him being there.

It will take time for you and the kids to deal with this loss.

And, with tears in MY eyes as well, I wish you all some ease from your heartbreak. I have been there more times than I want to remember, but whenever I read of another beloved pet leaving to go play with mine, I DO remember.

God Bless you and your family. Miss Poo is happy and running pain free waiting for you all!

God Bless..

Oh Tootsie, my heart goes out to you and your children on the loss of Miss Poo, what a lovely, soulful dog. How lucky she was to have had such a loving home.

The loss of a cherished pet is incredibly difficult; they become so much a part of the family and their loss is deeply felt. I will pray for you all.

That is just so sad and I am so sorry. I know how you and the kiddos are feeling. These pets get a hold of our hearts and become members of the family or like children. I still miss mine that I had for fourteen years.I use to tell that dog it was the worst kid I ever had. ;-)
Prayers.

Tootsie, our hearts go out to you in this terrible time. I've lost my share of pets that I loved so much I too, thought I'd never stop crying. The last two are buried up on the hill here on our property and have some of my favorite flowers on their graves. They are like part of the family and it's hard to let them go.

Tootsie, I am so sorry. I could feel the pain of your loss in every word you wrote. I am sending many prayers your way and a big hug.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved companion! I will be praying that the Lord heals your broken hearts!

We have found healing in creating a memorial garden for our pets. My blue and white perenial garden is my children's loving tribute to their guinea pigs.
Oh Tootsie, it is so hard to loose a pet that is definitely a member of the family. I am so sorry. I will keep you and the children in prayer. God Bless. Hugs, Marty
My heart deeply hurts for you and your family. May time help heal.

As I look down at my 12 year old schnauzer sleeping at my feet, my heart just aches for you and your family. I will keep all of you in my prayers for healing that only comes with time. She didn't need to spell "love"...she said it with her eyes. Tootise, I am just so, so sorry.

I came to check in on you, Tootsie, because I am behind in everything I do, and haven't been joining in on Fridays. I read your post with tears in my eyes. I'm sorry for your loss of Miss Poo. I just said a prayer for you and your family.
I just recently went through this with my Lab Sally. :( She was right at this same age - time with them seems to go by so fast doesn't it? My heart goes out to you doll. {{{HUGS}}}

Tootsie,

So sorry about your precious doggie. When we had to put our border collie to sleep...was one of the hardest things we ever had to do. Didn't think we would ever have another dog..but now we have two wonderful pooches again. They don't replace her...but they did help heal our hearts. Will be praying for you and your kiddos.

I'm sad for your family. We still have sad moments about our Tundra--and we only cared for her for a few months. At least you have many fine memories.
OH Tootise, I have tears in my eyes as I type this. My dog is 15 and failing little by little. I am putting him in my bed and go hug him and kiss him now. He is like a part of my body every step I take he is there. I understand, I will pray your children get over this soon. It has to hurt..

Nothing greater than a dog and a human beings relationship. I dont even know your family, never will and I'm sitting here crying. (not kidding). I've said goodbye to many dogs over my lifetime now--and each one is no less painful for me. I say, its the last time I cant do this again--but then I remind myself so many animals are waiting for loving families AND the ones that have left us, want us to care for one of their "own". My prayers are with you!

When a pet touches your heart as much as Miss Poo did, you wonder how you are going to get through the next moment without her. Cry, remember the good times and just let your grief out. We know you are hurting and will for as long as you need to.

Thinking about you during this difficult time.
I will remember you in prayer and keep your family close in thought.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I hope your family's hearts mend soon. One of the hardest lessons in life is to lose someone you love. Too bad we can't keep them from ever feeling that pain. When you are all ready, a new puppy in your lives will help ease the suffering. There's no replacing but having another dog to love makes you feel good inside. I certainly know the feeling. Thunder is our fourth dog and each one before still holds a space in our family and our hearts.

Sorry for your loss. Pets truly are a large part of our families and it is always hard on everyone when they must go to a better place.
I found your blog through Connie at Hartwood Roses and I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved dog Miss Poo. As a huge animal lover I can relate to the pain that you and your family are going through right now. I hope you will find comfort in the wonderful memories of all the years you shared with her!

I am so very sorry to read about the loss of your precious Miss Poo. My heart goes out to you all, especially to your children. Never easy, always heartbreaking and the only healer is time but it takes too long. I've been through many losses over my life and have no pets right now but they bring so much joy. One day maybe I will hear the patter of four feet and the bang of a tail on the wall as I come home again. My prayers are with you all and little Miss Poo.
