Copy_of_001

WELCOME!!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

What a week I have had! Since the last Flaunt I have been a very busy girl! Friends and fun consumed the entire weekend…It was fabulous!

The new week brought with it some drama, including a trip to the emergency room for one kid who ended up on crutches for a badly sprained ankle. She took a bad landing on the trampoline.

The pool was set up in the greenhouse, and my house suddenly became even more of a popular place to hang out than it was before! The gardens were hopping with kids all week long!

DSCN1345

I managed to get a shot of the situation when there were no kids…

DSCN1346

…and one of two of my own…just swimming away…happy happy!

It is hot as heck in the greenhouse during the day…so they don’t mind the cool water so much…It is actually quite warm after a day or so…the heat in there warms that water right up!

Both of my parents celebrate birthdays this week! Happy Birthday Grammie and Gramie!!! We Love you!

It wasn’t a warm week in my area of Alberta, but it was a very busy one to say the very least!

I have lots to share this week…so I might as well get on with it!

DSCN1340

Brenda (my partner on Growing 4 Seasons) asked me what I have growing on in my greenhouse right now…so I will give her a quick look…See?

I’ll share more of that next week girl!

DSCN1303

I love the view from inside the greenhouse to the tiny pathway outside the door…

DSCN1304

The huge leaves on the Nicotana give my header bed sort of a tropical look this year! yay Tootsie!

DSCN1306

It’s a jungle out there!

DSCN1357

My big pots are getting nice and full…

DSCN1360

My stairway pots are looking so pretty…very dainty in their little pots!

DSCN1379

My direct seed beds in the back are looking ok…wish they would just bloom already!!!!

DSCN1389

I love the colors in the front yard curvy hedge that I built last year…they just look so bright when you drive up.

DSCN1391

DSCN1400

I am so excited that my direct seed bed on the front side yard is going wild!!!

DSCN1401

It’s Blooming!!!

DSCN1404

There are two types of Malva mixed in with the poppies and the other things that are going in there…the Poppy seeds took…but I think they and the Malva crowded out the rest! Oh well…lesson learned!

DSCN1408

…a quick view of the curvy hedge from the inside of the yard…

DSCN1412

My lupins are blooming!!!!

Well…that is it for today…I could go on and on and on…there is so much to share in my gardens right now. I will leave you with a preview of next week…

DSCN1435

I have a Plan….and can’t wait to get a chance to see it through!!!

On this note…I send you hugs and smiles, and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with those you find most enjoyable! Thanks to all who linked in last week and to those who leave such sweet comments that make me smile. I am looking forward to getting around and seeing you all in the coming days!

Until next time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to those special three who make my posts such a treat to share…Be careful the toes you step on today maybe attached to the ass you'll have to kiss tomorrow.

The Hens and the Chicks

Hey!!! Good to see you! Thanks for stopping by! Today I am sharing something I have done…that isn’t even in my garden!

Most of you have heard of me chatting on and on about the wonderful neighbor I have living next door. He lets me do anything I want to his yard…as long as I don’t dig up the grass and make flower beds or plant a hedge…lol

He doesn’t like to do yard work, and he knows nothing about flowers, so I play around and make things pretty there once and a while…even add a few pots of flowers just to be a bug. lol

Well…he has a little patch of Hens and Chicks that grow in the front rock bed. He thinks they are weeds and was about to spray them with weed killer one day…when I arrived to save the day!

I am not that great with succulents and thought these “endangered” babies would be a good challenge for me. The plants didn’t do much for the last couple years…barely existed…but this year they have been Tootsiefied!

DSCN1237

I made them bloom!!!!

DSCN1236

They look awesome now…

DSCN1239

I haven’t ever seen them bloom before, so I have been waiting to see if they open up…or what is going to happen with them.

DSCN1240

When I showed my neighbor his little plants last week…he laughed. He asked if the plant is called hens and chicks…is that bloom the rooster? hahaha!

DSCN1241

I got it to make babies…

DSCN1243

The whole darn family…Hens, chicks and roosters too!

DSCN1244

Anyone have tips for transplanting or dividing these? I think my greenhouse might need a couple.

DSCN1238

That’s my story!

The weekend was absolutely fabulous at my house…good friends, old and new ones, lots of fun and time outside…what more could a girl ask for?

Until next time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to the terrific three…you know who you are!

WELCOME!!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really.

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

I am posting a bit early this week…as I am swamped with things to do today…

All I can say about this week is that it was an absolute gong show!!! The kids and I were on the run all week long…errands, play dates, chores…you name it. We didn’t get a lot of time to enjoy the gardens this week due to the seemingly endless parade of violent thunderstorms that were inviting themselves into the area.

It seems that my gardens got very lucky this week (so far) as the hail and strong winds that were accompanied by heavy rains, was not quite as severe as that which hit other areas. I am thankful for just some minor flooding and a few tattered plants.

In spite of the storms, I managed to see a few new blooms this week that I am excited to share with you.

DSCN1211

I got this plant the other day from a lady who is moving to an apartment and didn’t want it! Yay me!!!

DSCN1214

The Dahlias are blooming!!!!

DSCN1213

They are so vibrant!!!

DSCN1216

They seem to be peeking out over the chairs in my garden room!

DSCN1218

DSCN1219

I love the way they bloom !!!

DSCN1221

This one is my favorite!

DSCN1228

This one looks like it’s glowing!

DSCN1229

This is one bloom on a Dahlia I have never seen before!

DSCN1224

The thymophilla (did I spell that right?) is going gang busters with the bacopa!

DSCN1235

The snap dragons are taking a turn in bloom now too! I can’t wait till they are all smiling back at me!

DSCN1233

This bed is going to be gorgeous when all the snaps start to bloom…the rest is filled with geranium and edged in with dusty miller!

DSCN1234

I leave you with this one last shot of one of my favorite beds!

It seems that things are popping here in spite of the storms…whew…that’s a relief!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

Hugs, smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend to you all!!! I have had a few issues with my internet this week...and am still working my way through last week's flaunt...bare with me...I will be there!

Until next time....happy gardening!!!

*)*)*) to my three special winks…"Life is tough"- ~Wear a Helmet~you know who you are!
