Builders Beige.....BE GONE!!!

Today I am coming to you live from the downstairs bathroom in my house today!
This is where the second room transformation took place. Come-I'll take you on a quick tour...
Do you recall the cleaning frenzy that Nan hosted a while ago? This was the result of that....please note the blue...the towel bar, the color of the towel rack...among other things.
This shot gives a view of the blue shower curtain....and some of the accessories...
Are we ready for the AFTER shots???

TA-DA! Welcome to the tiny downstairs bath in my house! The builder's beige paint is GONE!
The towel rack has been spray painted black...I removed the towel bar that was in such a stupid place...each time you used the toilet, you would bang into it and knock the towels onto the floor!
The wall color is called HEART OF BRONZE....I am in LOVE with this color...it is a great addition to the room...even though it is small, it still wears this dark color so very well.
A quick mirror change (that other mirror is too pretty to be hidden in a bath no one uses)
I removed the blues from this room for now...and plan to take the tub surround decorative curtains from the master bath and add them down here...but first need to make some new ones for the master bath...so that will wait.
And that is what I did to the teensy second bath one afternoon.
Wait till you see what I did that evening! (ha ha...yep, I'm a tease!)

I have had some major issues getting around to you all this weekend. Not only was it a busy weekend here....but blogger is not loading properly for me (and from what I hear, many of us) If the blog loads, I can't leave a comment! I hope they fix this soon, it's frustrating!

A Stitch in Time....

Oh girls! I was so excited when my cell phone rang and I learned that I had won the silent auction at the local Sally Anne!!!! I let out a giggle and had a tiny celebration right there behind the wheel of my truck (yea...I was on the way to hockey) lol
What did I win???
Yeppers!!! I won a beautiful old sewing machine! So what if the front drawer is missing...I can live with a little imperfection....after all...I'm less than perfect!
She is Canadian Made too!!! look how dirty that is...just wait!

Okay Gloria....what the heck are these two pieces for????? it came with the machine...and I am so clueless..it has to be something fabulous if they were kept with the machine all this time...
Inside those drawers were old bobbins that look like bullets...(forgot to take a photo) lol
After a little cleaning...she is starting to look a little more pretty!
And a lot less dusty...see how shiny I made that???
I love all the details...
I is looking a lot cleaner since I put some elbow grease into it!
Oh how I wish I could leave it open all the time!!! But...sadly my house is not big enough to have that privelage....I will post it again when I finish my living room make over...and fall clean out! (that means a while from now-lol)

The Man Room...and Surrounding area

Hey! Here I am AGAIN... happy as a clam to have another area (or several) cleaned up for the summer! Momstheword is hosting a summer cleaning frenzy and I'm ALL IN! Stop by and see what she has in the way of inspiration, and encouragement...motivation and entertainment...you won't be disappointed! (no pressure momstheword...lol)
Lets start with the sad excuse of a laundry room...you'd think that with as much time as I spend in here...it could be a little bigger! It is even too small to stack the machines...we tried! BUT it is sparkling and smells wonderful now!
Moving right along...we are looking at the downstairs bathroom that is right next to the laundry...if I could knock out the wall in between....oh such a wonderful dream...It too is clean...for the moment. It is adjacent to the kid's bedrooms too...you get the picture...
Next...we leave the bathroom, and stop to quickly dust the "book"shelves on the wall between the laundry and bath...they are made out of old Readers Digest books. I love them.
If you were to come into the house from the front door...this is the first view of the interior of my home...THE MAN ROOM. Well it used to be decked out in a hockey theme...vintage photos etc...but recently had a make over to include family....mostly kid photos...
I need to hang a couple of the kid's pics still...there are three of each child...first year, last year and current year...and one of the three of them together.
This cabinet is going to be painted black...(blame that on Picket) and it BETTER STAY neat...those books (on one shelf) and the three million movies are prone to laying all over...grr.
Before I got this laptop...I used to play on the computer in that cabinet...it is now "resting"...and that green and cream table...I salvaged from a certain burning barrel...and shabby chic'd it up!
By dusting and moving the treadmill over here...I could camouflage it with the large plants...that way it was not such a huge focal point in the space. I will be placing a large mirror in behind on the pony wall...so that who ever (usually me-with a little help from Busy) is on it can still see t.v. when they are using it.
And I am almost finished with this space. There are a few odds and ends...and the carpet needs a cleaning...and some painting to do....but that will wait for another day.
I will not post the list...it will make the post too long and super boring. I basically moved all the furniture, and vacuumed, dusted, did windows, blinds and spot cleaned walls. The other rooms got wiped from top to bottom, and the cupboards got edited to the extreme!
